Fig. 4. Thoth seated in the crescentshaped boat of the Moon being presented with the Wedjat-Eye by a baboon, the animal form of himself. The boat floats above the glyph ‘Heavens,’ and the driftnet ahead suggests that the Moon-boat is flowing with the currents of Heaven. (Nile boats used a driftnet going downstream to the sea and a sail going upstream to the south). The curved stern with notches carved into it, representing broken-off palm leaves, is the sign for ‘years,’ with each broken-off leaf counting as a day. Sandstone stele of Neferrenpet.
